LOCATION:

Holiday Inn Express, Exit 23 off of I-88, Schoharie, NY                       (518) 295-6088 or (800) 272-9273

This show is actually set up as three shows in one!  The show is comprised of an open/qualifying show (any class not designated as a Stakes Class), non-NAN qualifying Novice shows and the Region 10 Regionals V (Stakes Classes).  All non-Stakes classes will also be NAN qualifying classes in the open level show and NAN cards will be issued to the first and second place horses.

Since multiple disciplines (English, Western & Saddleseat) will be competing against each other for the Stakes classes, please choose the discipline that best suits your model.  Please plan your show string accordingly, since this show is following a completely different format than anyone has probably ever seen before.

Novices

Classes in the Novice Division are not NAN qualifiers.  For this show, a novice is defined as someone who has been live model showing for less than two years and has not won a champion or reserve at an open show.  Novice halter classes will be judged on breed standards only and limited to Original Finish models.

ENTRY FEE AND CLASS SIZE LIMITS:

Region 10 Regionals will be held as a mini NAN for our Region.  Entrants may show up to three horses per halter class (Open division).  Additional horses may be shown for $1.00 per horse.  Place the horse and the dollar on the table.  There will be no class limits for the Stakes Classes, but please do not attempt to show more models than you are able to get into the ring in a timely manner.  Classes will not be held for late entries to the ring.

STAKES QUALIFYING:

A qualified model for the Stakes Classes is one that has placed First or Second in any Region 10 show during the years 2006-2007.  The model must have qualified in the Stakes division that you will be showing in at Regionals, i.e..  a horse only qualified in Western Pleasure, can only be shown in the Pleasure Stakes.  A horse qualified for Arabian breed, but not collectability, can only be show in the Light Breed Stakes – Breed Division.  Separate tables will be assigned for the halter classes to denote:  breed only, breed and collectability, and collectability only. Horses may also qualify for the RXR stakes classes at RXRV by earning a first or second in the qualifying classes.

During the 2007 show year, Region 10 qualification cards were issued to all shows for the first and second place earners to mimic the NAN card system.  If your horse qualified in 2006 and not in 2007, additional cards can be issued prior to the start of the show, with proof of placement (i.e. NAN card earned or a copy of the official show results).  The Region 10 qualification card will be placed next to your entry for the stakes classes and will be picked up by a ring steward prior to the judge examining the class.

For questions regarding whether your horse is qualified to enter a specific Stakes class, additional questions regarding the show or the class list, please contact the show hostess, Dianne Lievense (dlievens@nycap.rr.com), or the Regional Rep, Danielle Miller (glmdap@hotmail.com).

We will be using the Region 10 Tag systems.

The ID number will include your 3-digit exhibitor number (123) and the 3 digit number you issue to your horse (003) and should be larger then the other information on the tag. It would look like this: 123-003

Exhibitor number FIRST
Your horse's number SECOND.

On the back of the tag you will put the horses name and your name.

How do you get an Exhibitor Number?

Getting an exhibitor number is very easy. You simply need to e-mail or telephone the person who is "keeper of the numbers" and you will be issued your own exhibitor number, and can ask any questions you may have about your tags. To get a shower number you must contact the “keeper of the numbers”, Jackie Arns at drsteggy@drsteggy.com  In your email put your name and email address and request a Region 10 exhibitor number.

Please note, you must turn in your list of horses entered on or before the show day.  This list needs to be complete, accurate and legible. The show committee is not responsible for inaccurately listed horses.  Please put your horses in numerical order.

Multiple tables will be used in both Halter and Performance to save time. As one class is being judged, the setting up for the next class is to be done. Eight minutes between performance classes and Two minutes in Halter, Timers will be used.

Classes may be split or combined if numbers of entries warrant. If there are too few entries in a particular class, the judge may decide to combine it with another class. Fragile models may be laid on a towel or piece of felt in halter classes. The Judge reserves the right to pick up and inspect models.

Any horse that finishes First or Second in a non-stakes class, will be asked to remain on the judging table for the Stakes classes.  Judging for the Stakes classes will occur immediately following all of the qualifying classes for that given stakes.

NO radios, pets or smoking in the show hall.  Bad sportsmanship and poor conduct will not be tolerated, and may be cause for dismissal of those entrants from the show hall. The decisions of all judges are final!  If you have any questions regarding your entry, address them immediately after the class is pinned, while the judges' reasons are fresh on their minds.

The show coordinators, judges, and Show Hall (Holiday Inn Express) can NOT be responsible for any loss, damage, theft or injury to participants, their property or to guests! Please Note, this will be advertised to the local area, we may have more people then normal, please plan accordingly.

 PROXY SHOWING:

Proxy showing will be allowed, but the normal entry fee and number list will be required from the owner.

Please note, that while the best of care will be taken with your property at the show, hostesses or designated proxy shower will not be responsible for any accident should it occur.
