For those of you that do not have email or would prefer a hard copy please
provide a SASE.
LIMITS: There are no limits of horses, but you will only
have a half table so please plan accordingly.
Three (3) horses per entrant in a halter class. A horse may be shown in
only ONE breed class. Models shown in more than one class will be
disqualified. Foals may not enter in
the regular halter classes as they have their own division. Models shown during
the lunchtime fun classes ONLY do not need to be registered.
TAGS: You will need to provide your own leg tags. Baystate
Halter Live is a participant in the region 10 tag system. Please contact
Lawrence Nichols at (518) 793-2729 or emails lnichol2@nycap.rr.com to obtain your
exhibitor number and instructions on creating your tags. You will need to turn
in your list of horses and numbers prior to the start of the show.
GENERAL INFO: This is a NAMHSA® (North American
Model Horse Shows Association®) qualifying show. Any horse placing 1st or
2nd in either Open Division ONLY will be eligible to show in the 2008 and/or
2009 NAN®. Please read the information about NAN tickets on the NAMHSA website:
www.namhsa.org. Please be advised: NAN® is for model HORSES and OTHER EQUINES ONLY.
Animals other than equines will not receive NAN tickets. Fun classes held
during lunch break are also not eligible for NAN®.
Table space is limited. Each entrant will have half of a
large banquet table to set up, so please plan accordingly. Sales tables will be
available on a first come, first serve basis.
There will also be a ribbon-recycling program. Please turn
in any unwanted flats to the show coordinator at the end of the show. This will
also help keep future costs low.
Multiple tables will be used to save time. As one class is
being judged the setting up for the next class can be done on the other table.
There will be about 2 minutes between classes to allow for halter switching and
adjustments.
Classes may be split or combined if number of entries
warrant. If there are too few entries in a particular class, the judge may
decide to combine it with another similar class in order to warrant first and
second place winners a fair NAN qualification.
There will be a 45 minute lunch break around 12:00 pm (or
when it is convenient to break). Fun classes will be held at this time.
FUN CLASSES: There will be costume classes
during lunch! I make costumes and I LOVE costumes and I thought that it would
be a great idea to have a costume class. There will be 2 costume classes during
lunch. The first will be a traditional costume class where you can have all
your Arabian costumes, Native American costumes, Parade and so on. There will
also be a fun costume class where anything goes! Dress your model to look like
anything! Be creative!
LUNCH: There are many fast food restaurants in the area that
are in very close driving distance. There is a Wendy's, Burger King, McDonald’s
and a Domino's pizza all just down the street. There is also a Friendly's a
Dunkin Donuts (across from the Pike) and a Big Y Supermarket. We also have use
of the kitchen if you wanted to bring anything in and put it in the fridge.
RAFFLE: Any Donations are welcome! Nice OF models, custom
models, gift certificates, obstacles. live show quality tack, etc., will be
greatly appreciated. If you have anything you would like to donate, please
notify the show coordinator when you send in your entry.
DEALER: There may be a Breyer/Stone dealer at the show
RULES: No set-ups or handlers in halter classes. Halters
and bridles, if used, must be appropriate to the breed, fit well, and must be
put on in a timely fashion.
Collectibility entries: If you want the collectibility judge
to consider your model, it is strongly advised you provide a
3"X5" index card explaining why it is collectable. (i.e. "Breyer
SR 1 of 350 made). There are so many new models created every year that it is
almost impossible for any one judge to be familiar with them all.
Fragile models may be laid on a towel or a piece of felt.
The judge reserves the right to pick up and inspect these models.
No radios, pets, or smoking is allowed in the show hall. Bad sportsmanship and poor conduct will not be tolerated, and may be cause for dismissal of those entrants from the show hall. The decision of all judges is final. If you have any questions regarding your entry, address them to a judge immediately after the class is pinned, while the reasons are fresh in the judge's mind.
The show coordinator, judges, and hall cannot be held
responsible for loss, damage, theft, or injuries to participants, their
property, or to guests. MOST
IMPORTANT: HAVE FUN!!!

HALF/PARTBRED/GRADE: Cross-bred horses that do not fit in any other
category listed, as well as horses without a pedigree.
PAINT vs. PINTO: Paint refers to the breed. They are of Thoroughbred
or Quarter Horse breeding. Other pinto-colored horses should be entered in
their appropriate breed class, whether it be a pony, gaited breed, etc. This
also applies to appaloosa/spotted horses. They may not actually be an Appaloosa
just because it has spots, as in breeds such as the Colorado Ranger, Knabstrup,
and Noriker-Pinzgauer. Please place these in the appropriate classes as well.
Please be specific when listing your horses to be registered. Putting
“pony” or “warmblood” as the breed is not specific enough. The judge needs to
have a specific breed when judging the breed classes, as one breed of pony has
different characteristics than that of another pony. It is advised to provide
references and photos when showing uncommon breeds. Not only does it help
educate the judge to make just pinnings, but also helps to educate fellow
showers
